Winemaker’s Notes

This year we’re releasing our 2006 Viognier!

Our 2006 harvest again come from the lovely Damiano Vineyard nestled in the Sierra Foothills.  We have found that Joe has a knack for growing quality Viognier grapes. We harvested September 4, 2006 because of their exciting ripeness, flavors and character.

You’ll find that we changed the style just a bit and are pleased to present you with a more classic Viognier.  Just as before you will notice aromatics right up front that are synonymous with Viognier.  But here is where it gets its make-over:  we are going with a lighter, more easily “daytime drinking” approach. Tasters will also notice a floral aromatic and a light texture followed by a bright and citruscy and fruity aftertaste.

Our 2006 Viognier is still 100% neutral oak barrel fermented in sixty gallon oak barrels for three weeks, aged for four months in the barrel.  Then we adjusted the PH to create a wine that is both ready for savoring now and which will also age and become more complex in the following years. We produced four barrels and are selling 90 cases.  We’ll be reserving 10 cases for our library.

Sorry we still love the original label !
